(Posted in January 2017, we forgot to post this one in December but here is it! )
From Gulf Shores, Alabama we headed to Birmingham where we stayed with some more family over the week of Thanksgiving. While there, we were able to get a few needed things done to our camper. Hunter’s Grandpa (who owned his own construction company for many years) helped us fix a corner of our camper that had been rotting. What a blessing and a huge relief to get that done!
After our stay in Birmingham we drove to Missouri and stayed at Table Rock State Park. Our site was on a marina and very beautiful, but our only hook ups were sewer and electricity – an odd combo. This was our first experience camping in cold weather. It was rainy and in the lower 40’s, but after a quick run to Walmart for a heat strip and the ability to turn our air conditioner into a dehumidifier we were pretty cozy.
We took a day to see the area and found a beautiful river walk along a row of shops that looked like an outlet mall. One store that we found sold all sorts of sauces and salsas with free samples. We tried one salsa that was so hot, we were forced to leave the store with runny noises and watery eyes in search of water. After this eventful day, we began another week of work.
We plan on staying in cold weather for the next few months and will hopefully be able to work on our skiing skills as well. Stay tune for more adventures!

Comments:
This campground was pretty and had many nice features but the price was not worth it. Our specific site only had electricity, and most of the sites only had electricity and sewage hookups.
